Support Jason Schiefer's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
My brother-in-law has been in a tragic accident. Jason Schiefer sustained several fractured vertebrae, a broken coccyx, and a severed spinal cord on Sunday, September 8, 2024, while he was riding his dirt bike at a local motocross track. Jay (Jason) has a long road of recovery ahead of him. He will have to relearn how to do everything he once knew. We are setting up this GoFundMe to help with medical expenses, training his support dog, and renovations to his home to make it handicap accessible. Jay has overcome tremendous hurdles in his 20 years. Now, he will have another struggle. He returned to college for his final semester on September 3, 2024, which was one week before his accident. He will not be able to finish college as he had planned. Rehabilitation could take a very long time. The neurosurgical team at VCU has amazed us with the work that they have performed. Jay will then be transported to a rehabilitation facility in Atlanta, Georgia. We are praying for Jay to find the strength, courage, and peace through this long journey that is ahead of him. Jay is very loved, and we know that with the power of prayer, he will fight his way through this next life struggle.
