Jason McFarland was getting his hunting stand ready for deer season. He was hanging his stand and reached down to get a saw when a limb broke, causing him to fall headfirst. Jason blacked out, and when he came to, he could not move nor feel anything. His dad was with him and tried to drag him to help. Jason was life-flighted from Putnam County to Atrium in Macon, where he is in the ICU. Jason now has feeling in his arms and legs and can move them.
Jason crushed his C1 vertebrae in his neck, broke his back, and cracked his sternum. He is waiting for an MRI to rule out any damage to his spinal cord.
Jason does not have health insurance and will be out of work for the foreseeable future while recovering.
Jason and Heather’s son, Hunter, just started college at Mercer, and Macy just started 9th grade. Heather is a paraprofessional at Danes Ferry Elementary and makes a very minimal income.
This family needs your help. Prayers are needed more than anything.
