Just months ago, Jason – a strong, active man in his 30s – went to the hospital for what started as a painful kidney stone. What should have been a routine issue turned into a life-or-death battle: the stone caused a severe infection that led to sepsis, septic shock, a heart attack, and multi-organ failure. His kidneys dropped to just 5% function, requiring dialysis. Doctors used powerful medications to force blood to his heart and brain to save his life – and thank God, they did. His heart is now stable and normal again, and his kidneys have miraculously recovered to 100%. Jason survived against incredible odds. But the cost was devastating: the restricted blood flow caused severe necrosis (tissue death) in his fingers and toes. He's now facing the heartbreaking reality of potential partial or full loss of several digits. We're still waiting on final assessments from specialists to know exactly how much will need to be amputated, but the road ahead includes extensive physical therapy, wound care, possible prosthetics or adaptations, mobility training, and long-term rehabilitation. Jason is unable to work right now, and the medical bills, therapy costs, and everyday expenses are piling up fast. Jason isn't facing this alone – he has a young son who looks up to him as his hero, and a loving girlfriend who is also caring for her two small children. This family of five is holding on tightly, but the financial strain is overwhelming. Lost income, upcoming therapy sessions, home modifications, childcare needs, and basic living expenses mean they need all the help they can get to keep their home stable and focus on Jason's healing.
