Support Jason Haymond

My husband, Jason has recently been diagnosed with type 1.5 (LADA) diabetes.

His health journey began August of 2022 when his feet started hurting him. Since he has a desk job and was doing more physical work out at the property we'd purchased earlier that year, he didn’t think anything of it and waited for the pain to go away.

Fast forward to December and his feet were bothering him more, he began experiencing drastic, unexplainable weight loss, loss of appetite and energy. He wasn’t able to work for half of the month of December. He dropped 20+ pounds in a matter of weeks. I worked diligently to help him gain weight, support him, and get back to health, but nothing was working.

By the first week in January, Jason was bedridden, lethargic, unable to work, and still dropping weight. He was getting down to a dangerous weight. I started him on several holistic remedies, which helped Jason turn a corner for the better. Though his foot pain was still present.

In February, we started the medical process and had a couple different type of tests run, one being an extensive panel of blood tests. By this time, Jason’s foot pain was worse and he was barely able to walk.

A week later, on the same day that we got the test results back, Jason received a call from the doctor running the tests at the lab telling him to get to the ER immediately because his blood glucose was dangerously high. We tested his gluclose level again before we went to the ER to see if his numbers had changed and they had climbed even higher (600+). He could have been delirious, had organ damage, and several other scary complications. Praise God, Jason didn't experience any of those negative effects! During our 14 hours in the ER that night, he received treatment for high blood sugar.

Several weeks later, after more extensive testing, we finally received the official diagnosis of 1.5 or LADA (late onset autoimmune diabetes in adults) diabetes. The foot pain is neuropathy caused by the high blood sugar.

Thankfully, Jason has insurance but it only covers certain medical bills and does not cover some of the treatments he needs. The next procedure that he needs will not be covered by insurance. Because of his illness and excruciating pain, Jason has been unable to work consistently for months. I'm self-employed and work when I can, but most of my time is taken caring for him. Finances are very tight which means we aren't able to cover this procedure.

Would you consider helping me help my husband get the treatment that is so vital to his well-being? We would be so blessed and appreciative of a love offering to help ease our financial burdens during this time as well as pay for this much needed treatment if the Lord so leads you. Anything would help reach our financial goal. We would also appreciate prayer for wisdom, peace, and pain relief for Jason. Thank you!
