Support Jason Anderson's Kids' Education
Donation protected
Jason Anderson has been part of the Carollo Engineers’ Family for the past 29 years. Jason died a little after 7:00 pm on Sunday 2/23/2025, surrounded by his wife Beth and kids Ana and Eli, in the serenity of Hospice Austin's Christopher House. The last minutes of his life were truly beautiful, memories they will hold close forever. Details of his memorial service will be coming at a later date.
His colleagues at Carollo Engineers would like your support to secure funding for his children’s future college education and expenses. As a result, we launched this fundraiser on behalf of the Anderson Family. We ask for your continued thoughts and prayers for his family. The message below was written by his beloved wife of 25 years, Beth Anderson, when this fundraiser was initially launched.
In May 2023 at the age of 53, Jason was diagnosed with stomach cancer (AKA gastric cancer).
We found out early on that his cancer was Stage 4, but Jason handled treatment like a rockstar. He worked out, played guitar at church, worked full-time, and even mowed his own lawn. As a couple and as a family, we created amazing memories by traveling together. Jason and I have agreed that, while it was the hardest season of our lives to date, it was in many ways the best too. It brought our family closer together than ever before.
In late November 2024, a persistent headache landed Jason in the hospital, where doctors diagnosed him with leptomeningeal disease (LMD). The cancer had traveled into his central nervous system and was affecting his brain and spine. Radiation helped alleviate some of his pain, but his symptoms and blood work have made it clear the cancer is spreading far more aggressively than before.
After talking to his excellent oncologist, Jason and I have decided to focus on his quality of life and comfort care, rather than continuing treatments that are hard on his body. Hospice Austin will care for him at home.
Hospice doesn’t mean we’ve given up hope. We’re still praying for a miracle, and we’re still appreciating every day we have together. We also have the powerful hope that life doesn’t end when a body wears out—God is waiting to welcome Jason whenever his time comes.
Our kids are 19 and 16 (almost 17). When some of Jason’s Carollo Engineers colleagues approached me about raising funds for the kids’ college expenses, I can’t tell you how much I appreciated it. It’s so good to know they’ll have practical help set aside just for them.
I’ll put donated funds in an account set aside for the kids. If there’s any amount they don’t need for college, we’ll use it to help them establish themselves in adulthood (housing expenses or whatever else they need).
On behalf of our kids, Jason, and myself, thank you so much for loving our family through this time!
