Hello, fellow good humans. I am Jason, and I'm a newly-single dad of 3 other smaller humans: 16, 13, and 9.

I'm not going to sugar-coat this. We are in an emergency situation and need help.

I lost my Corporate America job in May 2024, after having given ~10 years of my life to the company. At the time, my then-wife and I thought that if we were going to have to start over yet again, that we should do it for ourselves. So, we opened a business... a beautiful float therapy spa, with float therapy, red light therapy, cold plunge, infrared sauna, chiropractic care, and massage therapy... everything you need to relax, revive, and rejuvenate your mind and body. We opened in April 2025, after a couple months' of delay from construction and state permitting, and got caught right in the end of school and start of summer vacation season. We were growing every month through the summer, but it wasn't fast enough. Since Fall started, business has died off significantly. We are struggling to pay our bills here and at home, and this place is the only significant source of income we have right now.

I realized early on that we would need some additional income if we were going to make it work, and I started looking for a supporting full-time remote job earlier this year. My background is IT, technical support, customer success management. Anyone who's familiar with the technology job market right now can tell you what a mess it is right now. To date, I've applied for an innumerable amount of jobs, and I have only had 2 companies respond for interviews, which happened to have come from referrals. After 1 or 2 interviews, those companies ghosted me. So, I am still seeking a job, all these months later.

To add to the story, this summer I was served with divorce papers. My partner, my best friend, my spouse, decided to leave our 20 year marriage right in the middle of the financial struggles. I am having to deal with finalizing this divorce on top of everything else. I've had to start closing the spa early every day so I could take the kids to their extra-curricular activities, which takes potential business away from every day when our historical busiest times are, in the evenings.

With all that's been going on, we've been unable to service our business debts, and have fallen behind on rent. We worked out a payment plan with the landlord for Sept and Oct rent, and we were able to scrape together Nov and make our first payment plan payment, but right now we have nothing for December. Since we're already on the ropes with the landlord, I'm afraid if we don't make our rent on-time, they'll close us out.

The situation is dire, bankruptcy is near, and if that happens, we will also likely lose our home.

We're in a bad, bad place. I have never been in a position like this before in my life, worried about the roof over our head, and I've pretty much thrown all my pride out the door to even start this page and ask for help. I figured what the heck? It can't hurt at this point, and might actually help.

This fund will go towards getting us current on rent to keep the doors open, and give a cushion to absorb the rent going forward, and maybe help pay our mortgage for a month or two.
