Support Jasmin's Academic Journey to Tokyo

Hey friends and family! It's JT//Mrs. Taylor here :)

I'm currently in school to receive my BA! Today is the start of a new academic year and after an 18 month long process, I've been invited to study at Toyo University in Tokyo, Japan for eleven months. The cost of the entire program and process is 30K. Me and my husband Tevin have 20K. We're looking for community support to make up the remaining 10K. Plot twist: I am scheduled to leave Sept 10, 2024 and received a 'no' from the final scholarship I was hoping would make up the difference today! While studying in Japan I will also be taking online classes at my home university, so today is also my first day of classes.

This 10K will go strictly towards tuition, books and supplies. $7500 for tuition for the academic year, and $2500 total for books and supplies for the academic year. Tevin and I are covering housing, transportation, registration fees, and all other costs associated with day to day living in Japan! I'm finally able to pursue my undergraduate degree in my late twenties through a full academic scholarship and my father being a veteran. I maintain a 4.0 GPA, and out of the entire student body, I was awarded Outstanding Freshman Scholar by faculty and staff for the '23-'24 Academic Year. I also maintained working in the library and being Secretary of Student Council, along with 40 hours of community service. Most recently I was a 2024 fellow at the University of Chicago via their Social Institute in Social Research Methods. All of this is while planning a wedding, being a part of a bestie's wedding, becoming a first-time godmother, and working full time as a performing artist.

I'm driven, passionate, and complete the tasks I take on! Please, help in anyway you can. Again, there is an urgency!!! I am scheduled to leave for Japan Sept 10, and will only get there with your help in achieving this final 10K hurdle. After maintaining my basic conversational level Japanese language skills and 18 months of applying to and being accepted into this international university, I'm asking you all to help me change my life if you can, I know we're all doing our best. $5 goes a long way, truly.... all the way to Toyo University in Tokyo Japan :)
