My name is Jasmine, and I’m a non-binary transgender woman of color living in Oakland. I moved here two years ago hoping to work on my mental health and find a supportive community, but the transition has been harder than I expected. I thought Oakland would offer more connection, but I’ve struggled to find the support I need, and the unpredictable nature of DJ bookings has left me without steady income. I’ve been facing ongoing challenges with rent and bills ever since I arrived.
This situation has taken a toll on my mental health and left me feeling stuck, even as I work on an album and several EPs. Stable housing and help with my bills would give me the space to focus on my music and my well-being, instead of worrying about how I’ll get by each month. I want to share my art and story with the world, but I need a little help to get back on my feet.
Your support would mean everything to me. It would allow me to continue creating, heal, and move forward with hope. Thank you for reading and for any help you can give.
