On August 23, 2024, my daughter, Jasmine, was brutally and viciously attacked by a dog that she was dog sitting for someone in our home. She had been sitting next to him on her bed, leaned over to kiss him, and he latched onto her face. She stood up, then fell. The dog then bit into her leg and proceeded to pull her across the floor. She managed to drag herself, with the dog attached, to her bedroom door. Jasmine was able to get enough of her body up off the floor to use her body weight to knock down her door. From there, she pulled herself up using the garage door and got herself into the garage. She proceeded to use the garage door to hit the dog while he was still attached to her leg, eventually setting herself free. She then ran to the neighbors for help.
She was taken by ambulance to a hospital with a trauma team in Tacoma, WA. They took her to imaging several times, and later that night, she was operated on by a plastic surgeon. She has several stitches in her face. The doctor had to double layer stitches on her leg in two places where the dog had taken chunks of her leg. He also had to repair a tendon in her hand because the dog bit through her joint and into the tendon, and stitched up her index finger that had also been torn open.
Jasmine is unable to work right now and without an income, she will be struggling to pay her bills and afford regular life things. Add
to that, the unknown amount of the hospital bills.
Anything that anyone can do to help us is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
