Help Jasmine Spencer Pursue Her Dream of Becoming an OB/GYN

Hello, friends and family,

Jasmine Spencer here, I am thrilled to share with you that I have been accepted to study medicine at Texila American University in Guyana. This is a dream come true for me and a testimony to God's sense of humour and his hand in my life. I believe my journey towards Obstetrics began in Guyana. About 25 years ago my parents started their life together in this South American country as they lead a small church there, and a few years later they were anticipating the arrival of their baby boy. Unfortunately, my mother became critically ill due to severe preeclampsia and the medical team was unable to save my brother. Seeing the pain my parents endured with their pregnancies inspired me throughout my childhood and amounted to my decision to become an Obstetrician at 12 years old. God-willing I will one day be equipped educationally to support the health of Caribbean people, teach persons of all ages about sexual and reproductive health and be especially able to improve the quality of the lives of the women and girls that I care for. I hope to be a facilitator of the joyous occasion that is childbirth and help prevent other families from experiencing the same heartache as my own.

To take the first step towards my dream, I need your support.

Along with my family's search for scholarships and other fundraising efforts, I am raising $18,500 USD (by Wednesday 28th of August, 2024) to cover my first year of tuition, other school fees and airfare. Your generosity will help me pursue my medical studies and make a valuable impact on the health of those around me.
