Early on December 4th, Jarrod fell from a second story floor and was rushed to the Lexington hospital. Doctors quickly discovered multiple spine fractures and a minor brain bleed. Within hours, he was transferred to Vanderbilt, where he underwent countless tests, scans, and MRIs. The medical team paid close attention to his brain bleed and carefully considered the best course of action for his fractures. On December 6th, Jarrod’s condition began to decline rapidly. A new CT scan revealed that his brain bleed had grown massively, and he was taken in for emergency brain surgery. Now, Jarrod is fighting to recover in the ICU. He has no insurance, and the medical bills from surgery, hospitalization, imaging, medications, and transport are already overwhelming—and they are growing every single day. My mom has been at the hospital with him full-time, stepping away from work to stay by his side, advocate for him, and help make medical decisions. That means there is now no income coming in, and she is juggling the stress of his critical condition with worrying about basic needs like food, gas, and bills back home. We are starting this GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden while Jarrod works toward healing. Funds will go directly toward medical bills, daily living needs for my mom, food, gas, household bills, and future care expenses as we learn more about his recovery. Anything—absolutely anything—helps. Even a share means the world to our family. Jarrod is one of the strongest people we know. Jarrod is the kind of person who would do anything for someone he cares about. He’s selfless, always putting others first, and his strength has carried our family through many challenges. He is fighting hard, and we are praying for continued healing and improvement every day.
