Hello everyone. As many of you may know, on December 30th 2025, my fiancé, Jarred, and I decided to have a fire in our fire pit. What was meant to be a relaxing evening quickly turned into a horrifying, traumatic incident. While feeding the fire, there was an explosion. Jarred’s entire face, hair, ears, part of his neck, and arm caught fire. Despite our efforts to put it out quickly, he must’ve been on fire for more than 10 seconds which left him with severe injuries. An ambulance was called immediately. With the immense amount of pain he was in EMS decided to sedate and, ventilate him. He needed to be air lifted 2 hours away to the nearest burn unit to treat his wounds as quickly as possible. The doctors informed us that he has endured 2nd degree burns, and they may still fester into 3rd degree burns within the next couple of days. With this possibility, they are still considering surgery for a skin graft in the more burned parts of his body. While trying to extinguish himself, his foot was also injured and needed multiple stitches. We are extremely blessed that he didn’t sustain worse injuries. We are so grateful he is alive. God is so good!! Unfortunately we are left in a surplus of medical bills. With such a long road of recovery, we do not know the extent of money needed. However, we do know that anything helps. With the ambulance, air lift, and months of healing he will be out of work for a long time. Please help us take the weight of medical bills off his shoulders, and give him a less stressful recovery.
