Hello friends, family, music lovers, and generous supporters,

My name is Jarobi Watts, and I’m a soon-to-be graduate of Stetson University, earning my Bachelor of Music with an Outside Field in Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies. Music has been the heartbeat of my life since I picked up my first instrument—the double bass—at the age of 11. Since then, I’ve poured my soul into every note I play, and I’ve worked tirelessly to grow as a musician, educator, and artist.

Now, I’m preparing to take the next big step in my journey: graduate school. I was recently admitted into Florida State University's Master of Music program this spring. In order for me to perform, compete, and work at this level, I need an instrument that can meet the demands of my developing technique and artistry.

For the past few years, I’ve been using a bass provided by my university—but once I graduate, I won’t have access to that instrument anymore. On top of that, it’s not built to support the level of performance and nuance I need going forward. After consulting with mentors and researching extensively, I’ve found a professional-level double bass that will allow me to grow as a performer, educator, and artist. The cost: $14,000.

A Bit About Me

Over the years, I’ve had the honor of performing in orchestras, chamber groups, jazz ensembles, rock groups, and worship teams. I’ve also taught and mentored young musicians through school programs and music education initiatives. My goal is not only to perform at the highest level but to continue giving back through teaching and inspiring the next generation of artists.

Music has given me so much—purpose, growth, community—and I would love to give even more back with this next chapter. With your help, I’ll be able to continue sharing my voice and passion through music.
