Support Jarix's Battle Against Cancer

Hello, my name is Raina. I'm starting this fundraiser on behalf of my friend Jacob and his family, who’s son, Jarix, recently got diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer (Yolk Sac Tumor, Stage 4).

Jarix is a 15 year old high school student with Benson High School and is on the wrestling team and is also a part of the marching band. He has many brothers and sisters that love him and want him to have a full recovery. Jarix is an amazing young man and even at his worst he will put everyone else first. Jarix is kind, smart, funny, adventurous, and thoughtful.

Jarix is currently in PICU at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital, and is surrounded by a very talented team of experts helping him with his treatment. His father, Jacob, is sleeping bedside in the hospital room to be there for him 24/7. Jacob has passed up the opportunity to get a bed at the Ronald Mcdonald house so Jarix’ mom could also be up there with her newborn.

With 4 children still at home almost 300 miles away in Benson, the family is facing challenges that exceed their financial capabilities. They come from a place of unconditional love and support from everyone in our community. Any contributions that are donated to their cause are greatly appreciated and will go towards transportation to and from the hospital, a place for the family to stay while visiting, as well as assistance to help with bills at home while the family is out of work during the treatment and care of Jarix.

Sadly, this tragedy comes with experience for this family as Jacob’s wife has recently overcome Stage 4 endometrial Cancer and has prepared them with the courage to face this tragic time.
