Help Us Get Jared Home The Medical Care He Desperately Needs..

We are creating this to help our dear friends son Jared  and we are reaching out with heart’s full of love, urgency, and hope. We are creating this fundraiser with Jared’s Parents and family in mind because their  son—an incredible, bright, and kind young man—is in desperate need of support, and they can’t do this alone.

Jared’s Story

Jared was a gifted student—he earned a $20,000 academic scholarship and had dreams as big as his heart. But during his high school years, he became the victim of a cruel hazing incident that left invisible scars. Then, in college, he experienced another traumatic incident. These traumas triggered a mental health crisis that ultimately led to a diagnosis of schizophrenia.

Since that point, Jared’s life has been a roller coaster of hospitalizations, treatment programs, and painful setbacks. He is not violent, he is not dangerous—he is a young man battling a severe illness, and he needs compassion, not punishment.

Why they Need Help

Recently, Jared was arrested during a psychotic episode. He is currently in jail, and though he truly needs to be in a psychiatric hospital, his parents and family is  struggling to get him the medical support he urgently needs. Bail has been set, and it is necessary—not only to help Jared avoid a system that often fails people like him—but to get him into proper treatment and on a path toward healing.

We are raising funds to:

    •    Pay for bail to get Jared the medical help he needs

    •    Ensure he receives the treatment and long-term care to get him well

Who Jared Is

Jared is not defined by his illness. He is an intelligent, loving, funny, and compassionate young man. Before his breakdown, he was thriving academically and had dreams of making a difference in the world. He still does—but he needs help getting back on his feet.

This is not just about one family. This is about how we treat mental illness in our communities. Jared’s story is one that too many families face: a system that doesn’t always understand or support people in crisis. But with your help, we can make sure Jared gets the care—not the cage—that he deserves.
