***UPDATE*** Jared has been removed from life support and is breathing on his own! He is still in the critical care unit, but he is alert and is beginning to understand where he is.

Late Tuesday night my brother, Jared Wright, made a call for help because he could not walk. He had started vomiting blood and unbeknownst to him was bleeding out internally. When he arrived at the Jacksonville hospital they determined he was far too critical to be treated there so he was rushed to the critical care unit in Tyler. The surgeon discovered that his left gastric artery had torn and each unit of blood he was being given was emptying into his stomach. Two ambulance rides, more than 25 units of blood, and three surgeries later, we are on day 4 and he has continued to fight for his life with his wife, Jessica, constantly at his side. Jared has been on life support and heavily sedated since Wednesday morning. He turned 46 in the critical care unit here. My brother is self employed and takes pride in trying to take care of everyone else. Unfortunately being self employed has meant he is also uninsured. He has a very long road ahead and we are not sure yet where it will lead.
