Support Jared & Family During Life-Changing Brain Surgery

On August 22nd my cousin Jared is undergoing brain surgery to remove a large tumor that went undetected for 20 years. At age 18 he had gone in for an MRI, where they found a “spot” and told him it was just a birth mark. Over the years Jared has struggled with learning and physical disabilities that have affected his every day life.

Back in March he contracted Bell’s Palsy that a doctor said would go away without ordering a scan. In April Jared was home with his 4 kids while his wife Dawnielle was at work, and he suffered a seizure while napping that his 9 year old daughter witnessed. June came and their family of 6 was preparing for a camping trip. They decided to test out their new tent overnight in the backyard prior to leaving, and in the middle of the night Dawnielle awoke to Jared seizing uncontrollably trying to escape the tent. An ambulance was called and he was taken to the hospital right away. Upon doing tests it was discovered that Jared has a large mass growing inside of his head that is causing all of these seizures. It is unknown if it is cancerous or not until the removal and a biopsy can be done.

Even with struggles throughout Jared’s life, along with Dawnielle, they have against all odds been amazing parents to their 4 beautiful kids. Jared has been a stay at home father with his children while waiting for this upcoming life changing, and absolutely terrifying, procedure to arrive. We are reaching out to friends, family, and the community to please help this family in a time of dire need. It is unknown at this time how much insurance will cover and the out of pocket bills that will stack up for his surgery and other appointments. They will be traveling from the very south area of Gardnerville to Reno for countless appointments while going through this. Dawnielle will also have to take off work and be able to pay for things like hotels, food, and gas without any income. Jared is an amazing father, husband, son, cousin, and friend. Please help us make sure he sticks around longer.
