Support Jaray Riggins' Road to Recovery
Donation protected
This GoFundMe is being organized by the victim's mother, Dena Wright.
On Friday, July 12th, I received the most dreadful phone call. My son, Jaray Riggins, was a guest at a gathering in a home near Pittsburgh, CA. As Jaray stood outside conversing with a friend, suddenly gunshots rang out, hitting Jaray in the right leg.
Jaray was shot with a hollow point bullet that damaged his arteries, blood vessels, and broke his femur bone. He was immediately rushed to an area hospital and has undergone six surgeries to date. Jaray has a metal rod permanently placed in his leg to stabilize and promote healing of his broken femur bone.
His doctors are predicting more surgery to help restore proper blood flow to his leg. Otherwise, Jaray risks amputation or possible death due to the blood clots.
His family, especially his three amazing children ages 8, 12, and 16, are extremely thankful that he’s alive. His children depend on him immensely. This incident has devastated his life in every way imaginable and has completely disrupted his financial stability.
Jaray has the respect of his peers and coworkers as someone who’s hardworking and loves his career in transportation. Jaray was due to start his new job at FedEx on the following Monday after the shooting. Unfortunately, that opportunity is no longer.
While the shooter has yet to be apprehended and is still at large, we hope to keep Jaray encouraged and to do all that we can as a community to help Jaray and his family through this terrible ordeal.
Along with prayers, Jaray is in need of help with the mounting medical bills and the basic necessities for his family while he’s recuperating. There are things Jaray will require in abundance during his long recovery process. His family thanks each and everyone for their support in advance.
This GoFundMe account has been established on behalf of the family of Jaray Riggins and his children in order to directly benefit Jaray with medical bills and other financial needs.
