Help Support Janice's Recovery Journey (motorbike accident)

Dear friends,

One of my best friends Janice Lau, was in a traumatic motorbike accident in Luang Prabang, Laos recently and her life has profoundly changed.

What resulted from the accident was a concussion, facial trauma, loose tooth, TMJ, abrasions, nerve damage, and amnesia. The paramedics first brought Janice to a nearby hospital and had to transfer her to a larger hospital. She was hospitalized for two days. On 11/24/2024, she flew back to Tucson, Arizona. It is already difficult having to fly for like a whole day when you are healthy. Imagine when you do not feel good at all. It is even more difficult. When Janice got back to the states, she was admitted right away at the ER. One of the doctors commented, “Janice, there will be a lot of people in this room because there are many mechanisms going on.”

Janice has always been incredibly resilient, positive, and joyful. She is someone who would light up a room. She is full of life and loves to smile! Ever since the accident, Janice would feel she does not recognize herself anymore when she looks at herself in the mirror.

Janice has a long road ahead of her. She will require ongoing medical care and treatment.

-Medical bills: ongoing treatment for facial trauma with plastic surgeon, dermatologist, optometrist, and primary care provider

-Dental: root canal treatment

-TMJ
