To all who may come across this page, thank you for reading this and lending your support. This GoFundMe page is for my friend Janice and her family in their desperate time of need. Janice was 36 weeks pregnant with a long awaited sweet baby girl, when she contracted COVID. After struggling for a few days at home, she was admitted to the hospital for dehydration, low oxygen levels, and concern for fetal distress. When her symptoms did not improve, she had an urgent c-section and gave birth to beautiful Alaina Hope. Shortly after delivery, Janice’s symptoms progressed and she was moved to a non OB ward. Due to increasing respiratory distress and complications from her c-section, Janice was admitted to ICU and ultimately transferred to another hospital. She is now on a ventilator and ECMO, fighting for her life.

To know Janice is to know tenderness, compassion, and kindness. She is a loving mother to now three children, a supportive wife to her husband Nate, and a faithful daughter, sister, and friend. She is selfless and puts everyone’s needs ahead of her own. At work, her patients know her for her thoughtfulness and dedication. As her co-worker, I know her to be generous in spirit and always willing to lend a hand. She is full of joy and encouragement.

Her daughter’s middle name, Hope, reflects her deep faith in the Lord. And right now, her family, friends and community are clinging to Hope as well, and for ultimate healing. Her husband now has three children to care for, including a newborn. He is advocating for and fighting alongside Janice as she battles severe illness. The proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to offset medical expenses and change in income, since Nate will not be returning to work for some time.
