Support Janice After Tracy's Sudden Loss

Donation protected
Hello, we are a small group of people residing in Elizabethtown, PA, who are trying desperately to raise some funds for a dear friend of ours, Janice Phillips. Just this past Friday (6/13/25), her husband passed from this world very suddenly right before her eyes. His name is Tracy Phillips, and he was loved by many people! Tracy was the kind of man that would literally give you the shirt off his own back! He never had children of his own but raised one son he rescued from a foster agency and bonded with a girl with a lost heart whose real dad rejected her. Tracy loved so many people before he passed, but most of all, he loved his wife Janice. Unfortunately, right as they were just talking about getting life insurance, tragedy struck. Tracy came down with a case of pneumonia and had been hospitalized. When he was released, the hospital kindly provided a voucher for a ride home, as they are a lower-income couple. Once the cab pulled up to their home, they got out, and Janice proceeded to get Tracy's walker from the trunk. As he steadied himself on the side of the cab, with their belongings still in the cab, the cabby pulled off. Tracy fell in the street and smacked his head extremely hard on the street; the sound was unforgettable. The hospital said he had a concussion now after this and kept him for 2 days. But the damage was done. He could hardly stand anymore, needed to be pushed around in a wheelchair, and his memory was not at all what it was. Unfortunately, before we could get any testing done to figure out exactly what was going on, as it was only a few days home from the hospital, Tracy collapsed as his wife, Janice, was helping him to his chair and started to go into a panic asking for 911. The 911 operator was informed that he was turning blue and his lips were also turning blue, and instead of giving her directions to start CPR, they instead told her that cops were on the way and if it gets worse to call back and then hung up! So she sat there in shock with him until the police showed up 15 minutes later. This poor woman, in this time of shock and grief, should only be having to plan her husband's passing. But unfortunately, she's left with not only trying to figure out how to pay for that, she's also fighting not to lose her housing too! So we ask if anyone could spare even a dollar towards our goal, please! And please, even if you can't afford to donate, please do what you can to spread this around! We need the community to know what Unique Cabs in Lancaster P.A. did to someone so beloved to many!
