Janet and I met at work in 2018, and over the years, she has become a dear friend. Recently, Janet received the devastating news that she has leukemia. This diagnosis has turned her world upside down, and she is now facing a long and difficult road to recovery. Janet is currently living in the hospital, unable to work, and is in urgent need of support for both her medical bills and daily living expenses.
Janet’s journey began with what seemed like a simple tooth infection on January 19th. After a complicated root canal and a broken dental file, she endured pain and headaches until an oral surgeon was able to remove the tooth on January 30th. Just days later, while visiting her niece, Janet suddenly felt faint and called 911. Although the paramedics initially thought she was okay, she was advised to go to the hospital. There, after hours in the ER, Janet was told she had cancer and needed immediate treatment. Since then, she has been in the hospital, facing collapsed lungs, low blood pressure, and the reality of a month-long stay, followed by several rounds of chemotherapy. As a contract employee, Janet does not qualify for short-term disability or FMLA, leaving her without income during this critical time.
Janet shares: "If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it." Your support will go directly toward her medical bills and living expenses while she focuses on her recovery. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in Janet’s life. Thank you for considering helping Janet during this incredibly challenging time.
