Hi everyone, my name is Brooklynn, and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of someone who means so much to me—my sweet, dear friend, Janet.

I’ve known Janet for about three years now, and in that time, she has become like family to me. She’s an older woman who reminds me so much of my grandma—kind, gentle, and selfless beyond words. Every time I see her, she brings warmth and kindness that lights up the room.

She owns a tiny salon in Middletown, Ohio, where she works entirely on her own. Despite her talent and dedication, she doesn’t charge her clients nearly enough, always putting others before herself. She lives alone in Ohio, while her daughter and granddaughter are hours away in Kentucky. Janet works so hard, carries financial burdens quietly, and never complains. She gives so much and asks for nothing in return.

Just recently, Janet told me she’s been diagnosed with breast cancer. She already has surgery scheduled at the end of the month to remove lumps in both her breasts—one of which doctors believe is spreading. Depending on the outcome of surgery, she may need chemotherapy or radiation. Despite all this, Janet remains incredibly strong and says she trusts God’s plan and is at peace with whatever comes next.

Still, I know the weight she’s carrying. Medical bills, appointments, missing work, living expenses—it’s all piling up, and she doesn’t really have a support system here. Her daughter hasn’t offered to help or take her to surgery, and I’ve told her I will be there if she needs me.

I want to do more. I want to give her a break from the financial stress, to show her that she’s not alone, and that she is so deeply loved and cared for—even by those who’ve never met her.

All funds raised will go directly to Janet to help with:

• Medical bills and treatment

• Groceries and essentials

• Monthly bills

• Anything else she may need while she focuses on healing

Janet has no idea I’m doing this—I plan to surprise her with the donations we raise, and I know it would mean the world to her.
