Update: I am 2 weeks post my right side hemicolectomy to remove cancer. The surgeon did a fantastic job at removing 8 inches of my colon. I am healing nicely with wonderful support and care. I am taking it day by day and appreciating every moment. My post-op appointment is next week. We will have a plan for further treatment after that appointment.

Pain is now managed and I’m working on my strength and stamina. This is going to be a continued process, I am learning this new way. So grateful for all of the support and care everyone has and continues to show. Deepest gratitude for this life!

I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart to ask for your help. Many of you know me as a kind and happy person in the community, independent, strong, and a helpful person, and a mother to Fane and Indigo Poe, someone who has put others before herself. Now, I’m facing one of the hardest battles of my life, and I need support for myself.

I had a procedure done on Christmas Eve and was diagnosed with colon cancer on January 8, 2026. This news was a complete shock to our family and has turned our world upside down. Despite the fear and uncertainty, I am determined to be courageous and beat this. I have surgery scheduled at Saint Luke’s North in Kansas City, MO on Feb 11. I will be having 8 inches of my colon removed and a resectioning done in hopes of removing all cancer. Staging of cancer will be determined after biopsies of the colon and lymph nodes are done post-surgery. Hoping that surgery is the only needed treatment currently. We are hoping for this outcome. Surgery recovery seems overwhelming, with so many unknowns. What I do know is that I’ll be out of work for an extended amount of time.

The physical, emotional, and financial toll is immense. As a mother, the pressure to continue providing for myself and my teen daughter (Indigo) while undergoing intense treatment is overwhelming. I am currently still working but have been forced to slow down due to being very sick and preparing for surgery and recovery.

I’m asking for a bit of help to take the financial burden of this diagnosis off my shoulders, allowing me to focus more on healing. The money raised will go directly toward:

Uncovered medical expenses and treatments, bills, daily living expenses, support for myself and daughter, and travel costs for treatment.
