I have been friends with Janet & Bob for nearly 40 years! I played Cupid, and they got together, and here we are 33 years later!
Recently, Bob (diabetic 2) has finally come to a point that his body is failing and he’s in need of a kidney transplant. Mentally, it’s crushing and worrying him that he will not live to see the 3 young boys he & Janet adopted in 2019 grow up! He needs to be here and will do all he needs to stay. He’s been through a lot: multiple pacemakers, passing out unexpectedly, many stays in the hospital that they’ve lost count of, and so much more.
To add to their stress, in 2020, Janet was diagnosed with an aggressive type of breast cancer called TNBC. 16 chemos & 20 rads later, she is still here to say she’s beat it for 5 years. Though she was just notified Monday of abnormal blood tests, which is requiring her to get in with her oncology team tomorrow. We are hopeful it’s nothing! Because Bob is her primary focus right now!
They really need some prayers, love, and support. Their co-pays are outrageous for both the medications and visits. Janet needs to assist him with getting to Chicago, which is causing a loss of wages, gas to and from the city, childcare for the boys, and the very greatest setback: not being able to afford the medications & co-pays! The bills have begun piling up, and they need help! They do so much in their community. They are huge advocates for children in the foster system, and Bob is well known in the community for playing Santa & the Easter Bunny!
