We are raising funds for our beloved friend and family member, Jane Swarbrigg, who is facing the fight of her life.

In April 2026, Jane was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, which had spread to her liver and lungs. Since receiving this devastating news, Jane and her husband Brian have had to face a reality that no family should ever have to endure.

Jane is a wonderful mum to two beautiful children Georgia age 2 and Jackson age 6.

They are her whole world - the reason she gets up every morning, the reason she keeps going and, most importantly, the reason she is fighting so hard and seeking out more medical options.

Jane wants what every mum wants: to watch her children grow up. She simply wants more time with them.

Jane is extremely grateful to be a candidate for a HAI Pump which requires a complex operation to insert it and chemotherapy treatment in the United States.

This specialised device delivers regional chemotherapy directly to the main disease burden, the liver, at concentrations up to 1,000 times higher than the standard systemic chemotherapy she is currently receiving at St James's Hospital in Dublin.

Unfortunately, this specialised treatment is not available in Ireland.

As a young, fit and determined mother, Jane is physically able to travel abroad to access this potentially life-changing care. However, the costs involved are extraordinary.

On September 23rd Jane hopes to travel to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre (MSK) in New York for her initial major surgery. The operation alone will cost over €200,000. Following this she will return to MSK on a monthly basis for ongoing chemotherapy and continued specialist care.

Further down the line, she may be eligible for a second operation - a hepatectomy to remove part of her liver.

In addition to the cost of these operations and monthly chemotherapy Jane will face substantial ongoing expenses, including medical care, flights, accommodation, and the cost of a dedicated companion to accompany and assist her during each trip.
