Support Jane's Degree at BerkleeNYC

Hi! I’m Jane :) I have been freelancing as a DJ + event producer for almost 3 years. I run a queer art event called PLAYGROUND and am a resident DJ at HOTPOT, Futch, and The Stowaway. I pride myself in doing good work with good people.

Last year, I found a program that would help me get more professional/academic experience in this field. Last month, I was accepted into the program— “Live Music Production + Design” at Berklee School of Music’s NYC. This would be an opportunity for me to get a formal + dedicated education on skills like: live sound mixing, lighting design, event management, and interactive experiences… all while experiencing and learning priceless lessons from the scenes of New York.

I plan on using this degree to accelerate my career, gain more stability, and unlock new ways to uplift community around me. I want to continue my own work too, curating events that move people and challenge us to build a better future together.

I am humbly asking for your assistance in making this happen. I was granted a 20k scholarship from Berklee, but this still leaves me with $40k of out-of-pocket tuition. I am seeking $5k in community support. This will supplement the other forms of funding I’m working on securing.
