As so many of you know, Janell was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia in July 2024. Since then, she has been courageously managing endless appointments, infusions, and chemo, all while working hard to create memories with her husband, Lance, and her kids, Jayden (6) and Logan (4).

Recently, Janell's medical team informed her that the chemo has been ineffective and recommended starting an immunosuppressant drug designed to stop the progression of her disease. Unfortunately, this drug is expensive. Janell and Lance's estimated out-of-pocket cost for this one drug is over $4800 PER MONTH. Additionally, she has been informed that due to complicated insurance factors, this monthly cost will not count toward her yearly out-of-pocket maximum. That means Janell and her family will be on the hook for this additional expense as long as she needs this medication. She applied for financial assistance directly from the manufacturer, which will cover just under two months of the prescription costs.

Currently, Janell cannot work between the cancer, treatments, and her other health challenges. She has faithfully been applying for disability but has been denied twice. Lance is working hard to provide for the family, but this medication amounts to taking on an additional mortgage or two indefinitely.
