Support Janelle’s Stroke Recovery

On Wednesday, Feb 26, I rushed home to find that my mom was not thinking clearly and knew immediately she was having a stroke. She refused an ambulance due to already having a $3,700 ambulance bill from a previous emergency. I rushed her to the hospital and in less than an hour and a half, she was being flown via AirMed to the best stroke center in Louisiana. She immediately went into surgery that night and has been in ICU since then. She is making small improvements but still has a very long way to go. Once she’s discharged from East Jefferson, she will be admitted to an inpatient rehab facility.

She already has a long road ahead and the last thing I want is for her to come home to a pile of bills. I hate asking for help but it is not for me, it’s for her. She’d be the one driving 6 hours a day to see me and trying to help with bills if roles were reversed. I know not everyone has extra money to donate to her but if anything, please consider sharing this because I’d love nothing more than to take this burden away from her.
