Help Support a Beloved Teacher for 27+ years in her fight against Leukemia.
Janel Lane has been a teacher in multiple states for more than 27 years. She’s been a successful coach for both Field Hockey and Girls Basketball teams at the Middle School level. She has shaped lives, inspired confidence and shown up every day with patience, compassion, and heart. Thousands and thousands of students and their families know her as the teacher who stayed late, listened closely and most importantly, believed in them when it mattered most. The lives she has touched are countless. The lives she’s influenced, beyond measure. Not only has she been a Public Servant, but she has been a faithful Servant of Our Lord Now she faces the toughest obstacle in her life, tougher than getting girls to run the right play, tougher than having 7 consecutive parent-teacher meetings. She’s battling Leukemia as a result of her previous battle with Breast Cancer. As a result of this diagnosis, her and her family’s lives have been turned upside down. Between ongoing medical treatments, hospital visits, and her recovery time, the financial burden is quickly growing. The battle is long and tedious; the treatment journey is demanding. Due to the specificity of this disease and treatment, after already having spent 2 weeks in the hospital, she’ll be spending the next 3 months in outpatient treatment and then the next 5 months at the bone marrow transplant hospital, 2 hours away from her home, then 4-6 more months of constant monitoring and testing. Teaching is an after-thought at this point, and if she is able to go back to teaching, it won’t be until late 2027. If you would like to please contribute to her fund, please know that any money will go directly to the cost of her treatments, travel expenses, living expenses due to loss of her income, etc.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps lift a burden and allows Janel to focus on what matters most, her healing. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page. Your support, prayers, and kindness mean more than words can express.
Thank you for standing with a teacher who has spent nearly three decades standing for others.
