On Christmas Eve, Jane’s beloved partner Mark passed away completely unexpectedly. They shared 20 years together, and his sudden loss has left Jane, along with Mark’s family and friends, utterly heartbroken and still trying to process what has happened.

At a time when Jane should be able to focus on grieving and taking things one step at a time, she is instead faced with the immediate practical pressures that come with everyday life continuing - household expenses, running costs, and the realities of month-to-month bills.

Many of us know Jane through the painting community, where she has built a small business she truly loves. Like so many self-employed creatives, Jane relied on the quiet, behind the scenes support of Mark to help keep that business running. With Mark’s sudden passing, that support has been taken away overnight, while the need to keep working and covering ongoing costs remains.

This fundraiser has been set up by friends who want to help ease that immediate financial pressure, giving Jane some breathing space during these incredibly difficult first months . Any contribution, no matter how small, will help lift one worry from her shoulders and allow her the time and space she needs to grieve.
