Our Brave Janai Needs Your Support!

Around the time of her fourth birthday, our sweet Janai was initially thought to be fighting a simple cold. Sadly, doctors discovered something much more serious: Janai had cardiomyopathy, a condition that left her little heart too weak to function on its own. Her only hope was a heart transplant.

In June of 2022, our prayers were answered, and a matching heart was found. Janai underwent the transplant surgery and, despite facing some complications, she bravely pulled through. Just over a month later, after nearly a year in the hospital, she was finally able to come home! We were overjoyed to have our family together again, and we remain eternally grateful for the incredible care Janai received at Children's Hospital, which allowed her to experience a more normal life as she grew into a vibrant 6-year-old.

Now, Janai is facing another significant hurdle. Her body is experiencing an antibody rejection of her transplanted heart. She currently has a PICC line and is homebound as she undergoes treatment to fight this rejection.

Our family is once again facing unexpected medical expenses, including medications, specialized care, and supplies needed for Janai's homebound recovery. We are reaching out to our community for support during this challenging time.
