Help Jan Reed Heal and Secure Her Future
I am reaching out to you to support my dear friend, Jan Reed, through a challenging time. Jan and I met while working at the same company. She would later give me an opportunity that would change my life, when she hired me to work in the training department. Jan’s work ethic is unparalleled. Working 14–16-hour days, 7 days a week is routine for her. In the first half of the 80’s she was a Police, Fire, and 911 Dispatcher as well as a volunteer EMT. During the second half of the 80’s she worked 3 jobs to financially help her mother and little brother. Caring for others has always been her life’s mission.
Unfortunately, Jan’s health has been on a steady decline due to debilitating spinal arthritis, degenerative disc disease, bulging discs and more. Her spine deterioration has caused her to lose three inches in height – from 5'7" to barely 5'4". In addition to this condition, Jan has severe inflammation of her joints, and her knees are bone on bone. You can hear them rub, making it nearly impossible for her to walk.
Jan finally found a surgeon willing to perform knee replacements, and she recently underwent her first surgery. The second replacement is scheduled for August. However, Jan's income has significantly decreased since she went on short-term disability, making it difficult to cover medical costs and living expenses.
Health issues are overwhelming enough, especially when there is intense chronic pain 24/7. Then add a deep inconsolable heartache to her struggles. Jan recently lost her beloved rescue dachshunds, Buster and Max. Buster was initially diagnosed with nasal adenocarcinoma and given 90 days. After a year he was actually diagnosed with sinonasal Transitional cell carcinoma. Max suffered from Canine Cognitive Dysfunction (similar to Alzheimer's) and Sundowners syndrome. And her existing Dog, Ginger, was diagnosed with Cushing and hormonal disorder. The costs of diagnosing and treating her fur babies were overwhelming, draining her savings. Despite her best efforts, Jan had to make the heart-wrenching decision to put them to sleep.
The costs for specialists, CAT scans, ER visits, expensive medications drained Jan of all savings they had to prepare for her retirement. Now Jan needs financial help to get through the next few months as she undergoes surgeries and rehabilitation. She deserves the chance to focus on her health and retire without fear when she turns 65 in December.
Please join me in supporting this wonderful, caring woman who has spent her life helping others. Your generosity will make a significant difference in Jan’s life, allowing her to recover and enjoy a well-deserved retirement.
I urge you to join me in caring for this wonderful and thoughtful person who demonstrates care and love to everyone she encounters.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
