Support Jan Nelson's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
On April 16th, our dear friend, Jan Nelson,
suffered a Subdural Hematoma aka: brain bleed which was then followed by a couple mini strokes.
She was transferred from the Amery hospital to Regions in St. Paul where she immediately went into surgery.
Since then, she has had a total of 3 surgeries, 8 CT Scans, an MRI and numerous blood draws.
She spent 7 days in SICU and was then transferred to the stroke floor. She is currently on a waiting list to be moved to the Acute Stroke/Speech floor.
As of now, they don't know how all of this will affect her long term, but know it has affected her right side of body and speech (she’s only able to say a couple words).
She’s receiving PT, OT and Speech Therapy and currently has a feeding tube placed.
Hopefully with Jan’s strength, the doctors' expertise, and the support, love, and prayers of family and friends, she will make a full recovery. It will be a long, strenuous road…but we believe our Jan can do it!
Jan loves her family immensely and her friends mean everything to her. She has always been a social butterfly and we hope to see her “fly” once again!
I’m hoping by creating this page, it will help alleviate some of the financial burden for Jan and the family.
If you’re unable to donate, prayers are always welcome!
