This is on behalf of my daughter Jami. She has had some extensive medical situations since the summer of 2024. Here is brief explanation, (written by her), of what she has gone through, and is still currently going through.

"Hello,

I am Jami Drake. I am asking for help to pay medical bills. This is really hard for me to do. In July of 2024 I was in a car accident where I ended up with a broken back. At first it was compression fracture located on my T12. After having to wear a brace for the rest of 2024, we (the doctors and I) thought that it had healed and was stable, but by the end of May of 2025, that all changed and was not the case anymore. At the end of May, 2025, I ended up needing an emergency, complex, back fusion surgery because my T12 had completely disintegrated. There were complications during that surgery where they found infections, and my T11 was also damaged causing the fusion to need to be bigger than planned. Within the first five days after surgery, while still in the hospital, I developed 2 pressure wounds that ended up requiring a 2nd back surgery, in mid June of 2025. Once again there were more unexpected complications. I have had the open wounds from pressure wounds being treated with a wound vac since that 2nd surgery in June of 2025. I have been dealing with one medical set back and complication after another, like blood clots, multiple complex and invasive infections, extensive testing, and ongoing treatments to try to get things healed up. But due to some of those complications that came up again, just before the end of 2025, I ended up having to have a 3rd surgery on my back in February 2026 to hopefully get things back under control. I am still currently being seen by wound care, with a wound vac appointment 2 times a week until the last of the holes close up on my back. I am also still dealing will ongoing active infections inside my body that the doctors are trying to manage through pic line antibiotics. The current infection that I am dealing with has the potential to attach onto the hardware in my back if it can't be contained and controlled. That is causing additional appointments for close monitoring. Due to all this, between trying to heal and recover and all the medically necessary appointments, I have only been able to work part time hours since May 2025, when I have been able to work, and not out on FMLA. I am in great need of help with my portion of the medical bills that insurance doesn’t cover. Thank you in advance for any help you are able to do. I greatly appreciate it.
