I am Selma Cobb Dean, the mother-in-law of Jamillia Goodwin-Dean. Jamillia is the loving wife of Larry Dean II and the devoted mother of three sons. Today, at just 40 years old, this beautiful soul is number five on the list to receive a long-awaited kidney transplant in Orlando, Florida. However, Jamillia’s home is in Melbourne, Florida, which is outside the required area for transplant patients who must remain close to the Orlando hospital for follow-up care and immediate access in case of complications.

Along with significant medical expenses, Jamillia will need to cover the cost of temporary lodging near the hospital for several weeks. She will also need help with meals and transportation to and from her appointments multiple times each week.

During her transplant and recovery, Jamillia and her husband—who is also her caregiver—will lose income, as they will be unable to work.
