Support Jamie's Battle with Gastroparesis
Donation protected
My name is Jamie and I have been dealing with chronic illness my entire life. Around ten years ago, I was diagnosed with a disease called gastroparesis, which paralyzes the digestive tract. Because of this, I am unable to eat and drink enough on my own. Within the past several months, things have become significantly worse. I require continuous tube feedings, frequent infusions, and regular hospital admissions. Despite the interventions in place, I am not improving as needed.
I have been out on medical leave from work for some time now, and it is quite clear that I am not going to be well enough to continue working, which means I will be losing insurance coverage. I will begin the process of retaining a lawyer for disability, but at the moment, I have no idea what I am going to do.
Despite my family’s best efforts, we are drowning in medical debt. Between the feeding tube/hydration supply company and the diabetic supply company, I owe right at $5000 and am unable to order any more supplies until I can find a way to get caught up.
If you know me, you know I am mortified to be making this page, but we are completely out of options and I don’t know what else to do. If you are able to help or share this, our family would be very grateful.
