Support Jamie Weaver-Gutierrez's Stroke Recovery

This fundraiser aims to help Jamie Weaver-Gutierrez and her family recover from a medical emergency. Jamie, 47 suffered from a stroke and now must navigate the challenges and high costs associated with this type of medical condition. She needs to put her recovery and healing at the forefront of her priorities. This unexpected event has drastically changed her life and presents a long road of recovery ahead of her. Unfortunately for this family this emergency happened during a time of Jamie being uninsured. This further complicates the already extremely expensive costs of ER care and ongoing therapies.

Her diagnosis was an Ischemic stroke. The cause of the stroke was a blood clot passing through a small hole in her heart. The clot traveled through her blood vessels and lodged itself in the left front part of her brain. This area is responsible for language processing, cognition and comprehension. Jamie's condition could call for heart surgery in the near future to close the hole in her heart. With such a complicated road to recovery ahead of her and the medical bills quickly adding up, this family is stretched to its limits, both emotionally, physically and financially. Returning to work in the near future is not an option for Jamie as she must focus on healing and recovering. She is a fighter, strong, and motivated. The funds raised will go towards medical bills, therapy costs and any adaptive supports she may need.
