Help Me Fight Cancer for the Third Time
Hi everyone,

My name is Jamie Ramsey, and I’m reaching out with a plea from the depths of my heart. A little about me: I was first diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2005, my senior year of high school. I went through 6 rounds of chemo and a month of radiation. At my two-year check-up, I found that I had a recurrence that would need to be treated with more chemo, radiation, and an autologous stem cell transplant. My transplant was followed by many severe complications, which led to additional immunotherapy treatments that lasted for several years after I was in remission. After 16 years in remission, cancer has come knocking on my door again. I’ve been diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma—a fight that marks my third battle with this relentless disease.

I’ve beaten cancer twice before, and I know what it takes: grit, determination, and a whole lot of love and support. But this time, the stakes feel even higher as I’m a single mom raising two incredible children, ages 6 and 7, who are my entire world. They need their mom, and I’ll do whatever it takes to be here for them—to watch their milestones, to cheer them on, and to hold their hands through life’s ups and downs.

I will be undergoing a double mastectomy surgery on January 9th with delayed reconstructive surgery. After my mastectomy, I will need to lose weight so I can undergo a successful reconstruction. I am hoping to have the funds to hire a personal trainer and get myself on a strict meal plan so I can accomplish my weight loss goals and achieve reconstruction as soon as possible. This is my ideal route, but there is a possibility I will need chemotherapy, depending on what the pathology reports find. Regardless, I will beat this!

As you can imagine, this journey will be physically, emotionally, and financially overwhelming. The cost of treatments, surgeries, medications, and caring for my kids while I undergo care is more than I can bear alone. My family is traveling from the Bay Area to help, but I don’t have much support locally here in Sacramento. I’m turning to my community, my friends, and even strangers who might feel moved to lend a hand.

I will be utilizing the donated funds for the following:
Rent, personal trainer, lymphatic massage, acupuncture, various supplements/vitamins, physical therapy, therapy, childcare, transportation, healthy food options and any other unexpected expenses that arise during treatment.

I need your help to give me a fighting chance. Every donation, no matter how small, brings me closer to relief—whether it’s covering medical bills, easing childcare costs, or simply allowing me to focus on getting well. And if you’re unable to contribute financially, your prayers, good vibes, and words of encouragement are just as powerful and deeply appreciated.

Cancer may have knocked me down, but it has never taken away my spirit. I’m ready to fight with everything I have, and with your support, I know I can win this battle for the third time.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for standing with me and my family.

With love and hope,
Jamie Ramsey-Sturm & Family
