Support Jamie Ousley's Kidney Transplant Journey

Dear friends, family, and community,

We invite your support for our brother, Jamie Ousley, as he undergoes a kidney transplant

this June. We are overwhelmed with gratitude that our cousin, Sarah Overman, is generously donating her kidney to give Jamie. A kidney from a living donor is the best possible scenario for Jamie, and we are so fortunate that he has this opportunity.

Around twelve years ago, Jamie was diagnosed with IGA nephropathy, also known as Berger's disease. IGA nephropathy is a kidney disease where the body's immune system mistakenly attacks its own kidney tissue. Jamie’s disease has progressed slowly and he was for a period able to manage it with lifestyle changes and medication. However, he has now deteriorated beyond that point to end-stage kidney disease, and he requires a kidney transplant.

The transplant is scheduled for June 24 in Miami, and both Jamie and Sarah will need

months to recover afterward. Though insurance will cover many of the direct medical costs, numerous critical expenses remain—including travel and lodging for Sarah, medical copays, and travel expenses for family members who will assist in their recoveries.

Your gift would support:

 -Airfare, car rental and lodging for Sarah as the living donor, including multiple trips

between Arkansas, Miami, and back for follow-up care.

 -Travel and lodging for family members to support Sarah and Jamie during surgery

and recovery.

 -Medical and prescription co-payments.

 -Any additional funds could help with supplemental income for Jamie, a professional musician, who will be unable to work for at least 18 weeks during his recovery.

Our goal for this campaign is $10,000. While that will not cover all expenses, we feel it will

provide substantial relief to our brother, our cousin, and our supportive family members

during this time. We want to repay Sarah’s kindness by making sure she has no expenses of her own.

Your donation, no matter the size, will directly ease the financial burden and allow Jamie and Sarah to focus fully on healing and recovery.
