After several months of reluctance, my forever friend, Jamie Lynn Motyka, is finally allowing me to start this fundraiser for her. Everyone knows Jamie, and if you don't, you've definetly heard of her. She got into the Local 40 apprenticeship in 2002, kicked ass and continued kicking ass until she ruined her back in 2015. She had unsuccessful spinal fusion in 2017, and it broke her heart (and everyone else's) she wasn't able to go back to ironworking. She now has the 2 cutest, sweetest, most ridiculous kids, I would eat them both if she let me. Calvin is 7 and Lily is 3.

So in April (2025) Jamie started having medical issues. She got a crazy bacterial infection, then another time she collapsed and was partially paralyzed temporarily and hospitalized for a couple days. After a bunch of tests, the doctors found she had cancer.

On September 10th she had surgery to remove her whole thyroid and 12 lymph nodes.

She's currently being treated for stage 2 classic capillary cancer in her lymph nodes and throat and its spreading. She is starting radiation the week of Christmas, of course, and whether she feels comfortable admitting it or not, our sister and friend needs our help. Please and thank you!
