Our beautiful ray of sunshine, Jamie King – a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend – received life-altering news in January 2025: she has an inoperable brain tumor. After a whirlwind of tests, scans, biopsy reports, hospital stays and expert consultations in both Dallas and MD Anderson Houston, Jamie is now beginning proton radiation treatment with a solid plan and unwavering determination.

In Jamie’s own words:

"Definitely not what I expected to hear when I went to the ER in January because of sudden changes in my vision. I went to rule out the big things—didn’t think it was going to be one of them. It’s been a roller coaster these past few months with very steep ups and downs… but I have already gotten to live an incredibly beautiful life. My mantra these past few months has been: I can do hard things. And I will. Because there are more beautiful times ahead."

If you know Jamie, you know her joy, strength, and heart. She and her husband, Jon – a beloved Allen ISD teacher – are the kind of people who show up for everyone around them without hesitation. Together, they've created a warm, love-filled home for their incredible teenage children.

Now, it’s our turn to show up for them.

The financial toll of medical treatments, back-and-forth travel from Houston to Dallas for ongoing treatment and time away from work – not to mention the everyday costs of raising three teenagers (!!) – is immense.
