Jamie Cook is a veteran who recently became homeless.

We met a homeless U.S. Marine veteran in Southlake, TX last weekend. While Jamie has made significant progress in the last few days, there is still an arduous road ahead.

Since the day we met her, we've worked to find her temporary shelter in a Ft. Worth-area motel, where she and her dog are now staying. We are delighted to report that, thanks to some very good people who have reached out to us in order to help, her case seems to have gotten the attention of the VA and so is being expedited through their system. Yet her needs are ongoing, which is prompting the necessity of setting up this GoFundMe page.

So, where are the funds going?

1. 100% of proceeds raised (net of GoFundMe fees) will be allocated to Jamie's housing, living and dog-related expenses.

2. Should her circumstances change, the continued use of donated funds will be revisited.

3. Any funds remaining after Jamie's needs have been addressed will be donated to one or more women's shelters in the DFW area. We do wish to note, however, that I will not be able to provide any tax receipts.
