Support Jami and Bryce's Surrogacy Journey

Donation protected
As Bryce and I approach our wedding day, we are filled with excitement, love, and gratitude for the support we’ve received from family, friends, and each other throughout this journey. My battle with breast cancer has, however, shaped this time of joy and celebration.

As some of you know, at 26 years old and in the midst of my clinical year of veterinary school, I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. What followed was a whirlwind of surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, and maintenance chemotherapy that I’ll still be on for the foreseeable future. On a happier note, I finished my veterinary degree on time, and I’ve been practicing as a veterinarian for almost 4 years. However, cancer persistently requires sacrifices along the way.

At one of my very first oncology appointments, before starting treatment, a kind and thoughtful stranger made a suggestion that I will forever be grateful for: to freeze my eggs before beginning chemotherapy, in case I ever hoped to have children. She explained that the cancer treatments could significantly impact my fertility, and that freezing my eggs would give me the best chance for the future. Fast-forward over 4 years, as Bryce and I have begun to discuss the prospect of having children with a few oncologists, it has become clear that not only would my fertility be affected, but carrying a pregnancy would put my health and safety at serious risk—likely triggering a recurrence of cancer. As a result, we’ve made the difficult decision to pursue surrogacy to grow our family.

This is not the path we originally envisioned, but we are hopeful for the future. Surrogacy, while an opportunity, comes with a significant financial burden—one that we could not undertake without the support of our loved ones.

We are humbly asking for your help in contributing to a fund that will assist us with the costs of surrogacy. Your support will allow us to fulfill our dream of becoming parents, while protecting my health in the process.

We understand that not everyone may be in a position to contribute, but every bit of love, encouragement, and support means the world to us. We are deeply grateful for any contribution, no matter the size. If a donation isn’t possible, your kind words, thoughts, and well wishes as we navigate this next chapter are more than enough.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us build the family we’ve always dreamed of.

With love and gratitude,
Jami & Bryce
