Update and Clarification
During the initial shock and trauma following my husband’s accident, I shared information that I later learned was inaccurate. The incident was not a hit-and-run, and I want to be transparent in correcting that.
What has not changed is the seriousness of his injuries and the strain this has placed on our family as we navigate recovery, medical care, and unexpected expenses.
Thank you to everyone who has shown compassion and support. It means more than I can express.
James, my beloved husband, was the victim of a terrible collision while riding his bike. James is now in the hospital, fighting for his life with 13 broken ribs, two collapsed lungs, and multiple broken bones in his face and nose. He has been in a medical coma, sedated and intubated, enduring unimaginable pain. Because he is still unconscious, we don’t yet know the full extent of his injuries. His hand was also severely injured, with fingernails ripped off for reasons we don’t yet understand. We are grateful that he did not suffer a brain or spinal injury, but the road ahead is long and uncertain.
James faces a significant medical deductible, and there will be years of therapy and rehabilitation ahead. Insurance will not cover many of these costs, and he will be unable to work for many months, possibly a year or more. The funds raised here will go directly toward his medical bills, therapy, and essential living expenses for our family as we navigate this difficult time. Your support will help us keep our home, pay utilities, and maintain our vehicles while James recovers.
I invite everyone who cares for James to pray for his mental strength as he faces the challenge of relying on others for his care, mobility, and comfort. James has always been strong, but now he must lean on the strength of God, his family, and friends.
Please, when you see a bicyclist, think of James and his commitment to wellness, and remember how quickly life can change.
We believe God has a plan, and we are holding onto hope as we wait to see how this ordeal unfolds. Your prayers, donations, and shares mean the world to us. Thank you for standing with James and our family during this time.
Please share his story.
