My name is James Jones. After battling COVID-19, I developed a serious heart condition that led to months of declining health. I’ve been hospitalized for the past four months, and on May 28th, I was blessed to receive a life-saving heart transplant.

Now begins my journey of recovery.

Doctors require that I remain in Gainesville for the next 6 to 8 weeks to monitor my new heart and ensure I adjust properly to my medications. While I’m beyond grateful to have received this second chance at life, the financial strain has been overwhelming.

My wife and I have both been unable to work full-time due to my condition and hospitalization. Balancing the cost of temporary housing in Gainesville along with maintaining our home in Tallahassee has become increasingly difficult.
