Support James's Fight Against Brain Tumor
Donation protected
In October of 2018 while at work James suffered a major seizure. he was rushed to the hospital and underwent an MRI where they discovered he had a large temporal lesion with cerebral edema. Diagnosis....WHO grade 2 Astrocytoma brain cancer. He underwent surgery to remove the lesion and then had radiation treatments to prevent further growth.
In February of 2019 the doctors decided that James needed chemotherapy for 18 months.
After completing chemotherapy he did well until June of 2021 when a routine MRI showed more growth. Another surgery was performed. Followed by 6 weeks of radiation.
The new year brought joy when James and Christina got engaged. They were married in September of 2023.
In July of 2024 an MRI showed some slight enhancement and James underwent Gamma knife radiation followed by chemotherapy.
Despite all the health issues that James was experiencing, Christina was able to give birth to two beautiful twin girls (Rachel and Sarah) in September of 2024. The day after Christina gave birth James had a follow up appointment with his oncologist. He didn't get the news he was hoping for, the tumor was growing again. Now faced with juggling a young family and treatments this is causing unnecessary stress. James and Christina have both worked through this whole ordeal. James has only missed worked for the many MRIs, appointments and treatments that come with cancer. He is a dedicated employee even on days he doesn't feel like being there.
On Wednesday, April 16, 2025 he underwent a 3rd surgery. The surgeon was able to remove all of the tumor but more treatments will still be necessary.
We all know that even with health insurance, there are still lots of medical bills involved in having 3 brain surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation and more MRI's than can be counted. Add on the cost of diapers for 2 and other costs involved in raising a family and this is where you can help. Despite all of the hard times, James has been able to keep a smile on his face through it all, in fact, he is usually keeping everyone around him laughing too. He is a great husband, father, son, brother and coworker. James and Christina are hard working, dedicated employees at their respective jobs and are devoted Christians. Their church family has been so helpful providing meals and support through this entire process. His sense of humor has helped get him through this tough journey. We have had several people ask how they can help this wonderful family and I was able to convince them to let us help! If you are willing and able to make a donation it would be greatly appreciated! If you belong to a church family and can add James to your church prayer list, they believe in the power of prayer and welcome those on his behalf. James will be meeting with Dr's in the next few weeks to determine what treatment will be next. Let's help reduce the financial stress that comes with cancer.
