My name is James, and until recently, I was working as a medical supply driver for Lincare. Out of nowhere, my legs gave out on me, and for the past eight months, I've been struggling with severe muscle loss, weakness, slurred speech, and balance issues. I can't bend down, and if I fall, I can't get back up without help. The simplest tasks, like walking my dog, leave me exhausted. After several falls, my employer put me on unpaid medical leave, and I lost my health insurance. I've had two MRIs of my head, one with contrast, an MRI of my spine, a chest scan, and a muscle biopsy, To survive, I sold my car, but my savings will run out at the end of December. I can't work until I can walk without falling, and can carry weight. Right now if I carry a bag of groceries my legs give out. And every day is a struggle to maintain hope and strength. Right now, I need help to cover basic living expenses—rent, food, and electric bills—while I focus on recovery and rebuilding my strength. Medical bills are on hold for now; my priority is simply surviving day to day. I'm embarrassed to ask for help, but I have nowhere else to turn. I have no family left. I've prayed for my legs and strength to return, and I'm doing my best to exercise and regain muscle. I've lost over 50 pounds, mostly muscle, and I don’t want to be homeless. Also please pray for me!
