Support James to Hike the Welsh 3000 for Grassroots football

Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name Is James and on May 31st 2025 I am planning to do the Welsh 3000 hike in one day to raise money for the Youth Football, supporting Grassroots development for Stonehouse Town Football Club.

Grassroots football is crucial for the long-term health and growth of the sport, offering benefits beyond just talent development. It helps to build communities, promotes health, and fosters personal confidence and skills. Having just finished my first year volunteering to coach the local Under 10’s team I have become hooked at the benefits and opportunities it can give children that for some mean everything to them. It's a vital part of the football landscape and deserves to be supported and encouraged.

Stonehouse FC are currently members of the Hellenic League Division One and play at the Bens Takeaway Stadium in Gloucestershire. Stonehouse FC were formed in 1898 and currently host a Minis to Under Seven team all the way up to Under 16 and then 2 Reserves and a 1st Team. The money I raise will go towards vital training and match kit so that we can continue to support new generations and families for years to come. However, in order to raise the money I have planned to undertake nothing i have ever done before, the Welsh 3000!

The Welsh 3000s is possibly the most challenging and iconic day hike in Wales. The challenge is to summit all 16 peaks within 24 hours. The 24-hour time limit will starts when I reach the first peak and will stop as soon as I reach the last. From the first peak to the last the challenge is around 38-42km in length and involves 3,100m of elevation gain. However, when you factor in the hike up to the first peak and the descent down from the last peak, the challenge is over 50km in length and involves nearly 3,800m of elevation gain.

Please, please give what you can, even if it just a few quid, or more, it would be great to help just a little bit!

Thank you for reading,
