Support Jim Rettie with his Colon Cancer Bills
Donation protected
I’m Kimberly, Jim’s youngest daughter. If you know Jim, you know he’s a retired army veteran, he’s the hardest working person out there. Right now, he, his wife Monique, his 3 kids Branden, Tiffani, Kimberly (me) really need your help, along with 5 grandchildren.
Just a few weeks after his 58th birthday, Jim received some news after a scheduled colonoscopy, when he started having issues with bleeding. Had an appointment set for colonoscopy: He was diagnosed with colon cancer. They found 4 cancerous tumor, 2 bigger than the other 2, and he’s gearing up for major surgery within a month, starting mid- April. He will be out of work for 4 weeks recovering, including a 5 day hospital stay. The medical team believes it could be stage 1, but they won't fully know until the surgery is done. After that, we will know if he will have to do chemotherapy or not.
Kimberly: Cancer is a struggle our family knows all too well—my grandfather died of lung cancer on my mother’s side of the family close to 14 years ago. It’s been really hard to take in, and it’s opened up some old wounds for the family , but Jim’s positivity and fighting spirit are shining through. His faith in God has always been his anchor, and he’s leaning on it even more during this challenging time.
Sharing this request is humbling, and I’m deeply grateful for your consideration. Your support allows me to focus on recovery without the constant stress of financial strain. Thank you for helping me through this life-changing time—it truly means the world.
Jim: Despite having health insurance, I'm uncertain about out-of-pocket expenses and daily living costs. Every donation will go directly towards necessary expenses, household costs, and medical bills. I'm humbled to share this request and grateful for your consideration. Your support will enable me to focus on recovery without financial stress. Thank you for helping me through this challenging time. I'm struggling with intense thoughts about my future, financial security, and the potential impact on my wife. After the surgery, I’ll be In The hospital for 5 days, and out of work for 4 weeks. After the surgery, they’ll also do a biopsy to see if chemotherapy will have to be done. I'm hesitant to ask for help, fearing it may be seen as taking advantage. However, I hope you understand that this request is made with humility and respect. I'm trying to navigate this difficult situation, and I appreciate your time in reading my story and considering support during this life-changing time.
